Happy New Year! 2010 has begun in a wonderful way - the sun is shining, it's 50 degrees and I spent the day in my studio, puttering & painting. As is my usual practice when I've not painted in a few days, I begin my session by doing a little equipment maintenance; clean brushes, refresh paint,& fill water containers. Today I decided to set up my new field easel to see if it can be used in the studio. This took a little more time than I anticipated in that my tables had to be re-arranged to accommodate the new easel. After all the shuffling around of my "stuff" the afternoon was almost gone so I had only an hour or so of light left for painting - thus, the small 5 x 7 you see here. It may be small, but it's a great painting.
1st painting of 2010! "Country Sunshine" - 5x7 watercolor.
By the way....my new easel works great in the studio. This will save me a lot of time when I'm ready to work on location.... palette & brushes already "in there"!
